Ingredients

For the marinade:

  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

For the fajitas:

  • 1 bell pepper (any color), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Tortillas (flour or corn)
  • Toppings: sour cream, guacamole, salsa, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak:
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the steak and coat it well. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours).
  1. Cook the steak:
  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off.
  • Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time to your preferred doneness).

  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
