Here’s a delicious recipe for Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites that make for a great appetizer or snack!
Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites
Ingredients:
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works well for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or olive oil)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Breading Station:
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the Mozzarella:
- Dip each mozzarella cube into the flour, coating it lightly. Shake off any excess.
- Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until well coated. Repeat with all mozzarella cubes.
- Chill:
- Place the coated mozzarella bites on a baking sheet and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape while frying.
- Heat the Oil:
- In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium heat. You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread in; if it sizzles, it’s ready.
- Fry the Bites:
- Carefully add the mozzarella bites to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy your cheesy mozzarella bites!
Tips:
- You can also bake these bites in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy, spraying them lightly with oil beforehand.
- Experiment with different seasonings in the breadcrumbs for added flavor!
Enjoy your Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites!
