  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  2. Cook the Chicken: Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  3. Make the Dumplings: About 30 minutes before serving, prepare the dumplings. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and thyme (if using). In another bowl, mix the milk and melted butter. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  5. Serve: Gently stir the chicken and dumplings before serving. Enjoy your comforting meal!

Tips

  • You can add frozen peas or corn in the last 15 minutes of cooking for extra color and flavor.
  • For a creamier texture, you can stir in a can of cream of chicken soup at the beginning or add a splash of heavy cream before serving.

Enjoy your slow cooker chicken and dumplings!
