EASY MADE ITALIAN MEATLOAF

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Italian Meatloaf that’s perfect for a quick dinner. It combines traditional meatloaf ingredients with Italian flavors for a comforting dish.

Easy Italian Meatloaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1/2 lb (225g) Italian sausage (bulk, not in casings)
  • 1 cup (100g) breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) ketchup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup (80g) finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (80g) finely chopped bell pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) marinara sauce (plus extra for topping, if desired)
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning (or 1 tbsp fresh Italian herbs, chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix Ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, ketchup, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, bell pepper (if using), marinara sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix until well combined, but don’t overmix.
  1. Shape Meatloaf:
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking sheet or a loaf pan.
  • Shape into a loaf, about 6-8 inches long and 4 inches wide.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • If you like, you can spread additional marinara sauce on top of the meatloaf during the last 10 minutes of baking for extra flavor.
  1. Rest and Serve:
  • Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold together better when cut.
  1. Optional Garnish:
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
