Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

Ingredients

  • For the sliders:
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak (or sirloin)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 12 slider buns (hawaiian rolls or similar)
  • For the topping:
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  1. Cook the steak and veggies:
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, cooking until they are soft and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until the steak is browned and cooked through (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat.
  1. Assemble the sliders:
  • Slice the slider buns in half (keeping them connected) and place the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
  • Layer the steak and veggie mixture evenly over the buns.
  • Place slices of provolone cheese on top of the steak mixture.
  • Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese.
  1. Prepare the topping:
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley.
  • Brush the butter mixture over the top of the slider buns.
  1. Bake:
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden.
  1. Serve:
  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
