Sausage Green Bean Potato Casserole

Ingredients

  • Main Ingredients:
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (such as kielbasa or andouille), sliced
  • 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed (or 2 cans of green beans, drained)
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or your choice)
  • For the Sauce:
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Casserole:
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced sausage, green beans, sliced potatoes, and chopped onion.
  1. Make the Sauce:
  • In another bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  1. Combine:
  • Pour the sauce over the sausage and vegetable mixture. Stir well to combine everything.
  1. Layer and Bake:
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  1. Add Cheese:
  • After 1 hour, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the potatoes are tender.
