Wendy’s Chili 

Here’s a delicious copycat recipe for Wendy’s chili that you can try at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar (to balance acidity)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: Stir in the kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne (if using), Worcestershire sauce, and sugar.
  4. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Taste the chili and adjust seasonings as needed.
  6. Serve: Serve hot, garnished with shredded cheese, diced onions, or sour cream if desired.
